First Book of Eight from Struggle Veteran, General Sam Kikine

General Sam Kikine, a political veteran of the struggle against apartheid, is honouring the wishes of icon, Cde Nelson Mandela, who asked veterans to write their life stories.

General Kikine has written the first book of eight that he proposes to publish. This first book deals with trade unions in this country and internationally. It also breaks the silence on the COSATU rift.  It will be launched at the South African Book Fair at the ICC in Cape Town, on the 13th June at 11.00 am.

In this picture, he proudly shows his book to a colleague. We do congratulate General Kikine on this achievement!

    Dear General
    Greetings and salutations
I am undertaking research towards my doctorate and need some information on SAAWU – there is virtually no literature on the trade union nor on any differences between BAWU and SAAWU.
Please assist me, if at all possible.
    Many thanks and warm regards
