Khulekani Magubane Flavour of the Day

Khulekani Magubane who is now a fully trained journalist, but started his writing career as a grade 9 boy in a Dancing Pencils Writing Club in rural Estcourt, has captured the hearts of the media.

Ladysmith’s book festival on Thursday 30th June are hoping he will be present to talk to young writers. This last weekend the Sunday Times featured him. Since then we have had calls from The Witness, SABC 2 Weekend Live, Drum Magazine and of course, he was featured last month in the umaWinna magazine.

SABC 2 “Mother of All Professions” have also interviewed him. This documentary will show within the next month or two, on a Saturday morning at 11.30 am. His success can in part be attributed to belonging to the Bubbles Dancing Pencils Writing Club in Estcourt, mentored by Sethembile Magubane, a teacher now in the Drakensview Primary school in Estcourt where she runs a club for this school
